Hey everyone,

This is jwaaaap’s newsletter about the creative projects I get to work on!

Who’s jwaaaap? I’m Jan Willem Nijman, a game designer by day and professional relaxer by night. In 2010 I co-founded Vlambeer (RIP), where we worked with some amazing folks to make games like Nuclear Throne and Ridiculous Fishing.

Since then I’ve been making indie games with small teams:
Minit (2018, with Kitty Calis, Jukio Kallio, and Dominik Johann)
Disc Room (2020, with Kitty Calis, Terri Vellmann and doseone)
Dustbiters (card game, 2021, with Terri Vellmann and Robbie Fraser)

I’ll try to keep things interesting, non-repetitive, and pinky promise to never write a “5 steps to making a successful indie game” type article. Buddy, it takes way more steps than that. Welcome along to the ride.
